A comedic play shows the story of one summer seaside vacation of the Novak family. Karel Novak is a regional actor who has no success and although he works many odd jobs on the side, he still has problems with his income. Therefore his wife Mirka, a direct sales dealer of variety of trumpery goods, has to support their family financially.  The family problems begin shortly after getting their accommodation, because it is different from everything Karel has arranged.

Getting a room right next to them is promising young director, dynamic Mike. Together with him arrives young Adéla, who believes that Mike gets her into the movie, and she is willing to do anything for it.

When Mirka learns that in the room next to them stays Mike, the director, she wants to help her husband along with other family members, to finally start a successful career.
